I used to 'walk' down my parents' curved staircase using my hands. Against the wall. With my feet dangling. I couldn't manage the entire stairs, but I could do the last half dozen or so, and then I'd end with a round-off leap to the bottom. I'm sure my mother loved my greasy mitts on her ivory-on-cream wallpaper.
